CSM Game-Changer Issue with Cristiano Ronaldo 2019 BODY ISSUE - Lauren Flodquist | Page 76

CSM: Work-wise, what does it take to be suc- cessful in this type of profession? BRITTANY: You have to have a passion for it. You have to have a tough skin. You have to have patience and a sense of direction. In addition to all of that, self-care. In something that is so physically demanding, you have to be sure you are mentally taking care of yourself. Take time to relax and unwind. Pursue other interests like music, traveling, spending time with your friends and family, whatever your other interests are that make you feel balanced. There’s so much more to life than just this industry alone. CSM: What is your great advice to those who will venture this kind of work? BRITTANY: Find your “why”. If you understand why you want to pursue this, you will better un- derstand what direction you want to go with it, and it will dictate the decisions you make. CSM: Cast a magic spell and wave your magic wand, where do you see yourself ten years from now? BRITTANY: I see myself as the first blind IFBB bikini pro. I see myself still doing personal train- ing, as well as working as a counselor in an agen- cy type setting. I also see myself with my own apparel line. That has been a recent goal I added to my list. You have to always be open to learning in order to be better, and you have to be able to admit that you don’t know everything. It’s also okay to ask for advice from other respected professionals. “
