CSM Game-Changer Issue with Cristiano Ronaldo 2019 BODY ISSUE - Lauren Flodquist | Page 344

CSM: This is your feature debut to be on Cen- ter Stage Magazine, what is the experience like when you are included in our roster for 2019’s Summer Body issue? SHAUN: I am honestly very excited to be fea- tured in such an established magazine. I can’t wait to see what it brings and hopefully my story can help motivate others who want to follow in the same footsteps. CSM: What do you think makes Center Stage Magazine stand-out or makes it unique in other publications around the globe? SHAUN: I think what makes Center Stage Mag- azine unique is the selection of people that they use in the magazine. It makes it very interesting for the readers and the information shared makes a very educational read. CSM: What are the duties and responsibilities that entail to your current profession or career? SHAUN: I think that the main responsibility I personally give myself is finding the perfect balance between staying relevant in the fashion world and not selling out. It becomes very easy to become a sheep in this industry and follow the steps of other fashion models and influencers es- pecially in regards to cosmetics and surgery etc. I personally believe we should be happy with what were born with and not make others who follow us feel like they need these procedures done on them. Other duties include training and consistently posting and networking. CSM: This year’s bimonthly edition is about going for game-changing results in careers and individuality and inspiring people (being a bea- con of inspiration); describe how you defied your limits and exude confidence in your career and what did you do to push those boundaries. SHAUN: Maximum risk = Maximum reward. Before I started doing what I do now, I worked in a school and had a very normal job and nice apartment. I was offered a really good job in another school which would have put me in a very comfortable position, it was at this point I turned it down and took a risk. I moved out and pursued this career. There are so many ups and downs on pursuit of a dream but I believe it’s the people who can go through all the failures and let downs who are the successful ones in the end. I have been faced with so many situations which I believe the average person would quit and go back to their comfort zone, but I continue to work through it. I have such a clear vision for my future and refuse to stop until I get there. I am faces with situations on a regular basis that give me anxiety and make me nervous, but I always remind me self that the average person wouldn’t do it, if I want to achieve greatness, I need to do it. CSM: Being assertive and attentive is required for this profession. Have you ever made or en- countered difficult decisions? How did you man- age that? SHAUN: Knowing your worth. There have been so many times when I have been so broke and been offered jobs which would tarnish my im- age or some that I believe are below what I value myself but at the point I really needed the money, yet I would still turn them down to stay true to myself and my values. CSM: How do you handle the situation if people get intimidated by you and your work? SHAUN: I wouldn’t know, I don’t pay attention to those who have negative feelings towards my work. I use it as motivation that people would be intimidated by my work. CSM: What game-changing results do you look forward this year? SHAUN: I filmed a 10 episode reality TV show over a year ago for a massive TV channel that was supposed to air this year in April that I was hoping would of helped with exposure and grow- ing my profile. They decided to not air the show without a reason why so that was a disappoint- ment. After that disappointing news, I went onto going through various trial shoot stages for a potential life changing agency. At the final stage they said my look was suited for them so that was another disappointing outcome this year. This has all motivated me to continue to aim high and carry on progressing. CSM: Describe the person who made an impact in your life and how that is significant. SHAUN: My life coach Leon. Without him I wouldn’t have progressed as quickly. He made me see and understand my value. He helped me figure out what I stand for and gave me such wis- dom and changed the way I carry myself. I got his name tattooed on me recently to show how grateful I am that he came into my life. The 2 oth- ers who have impacted my life our Troy Roscoe (Best friend & best videographer in the UK) and my future wife Marcalina Dasilva. If you follow me on any socials you’ll know. CSM: How do you set goals for yourself? SHAUN: I separate them into short term and long term goals and have it on my bedroom wall. I also draw myself modeling for certain brands I want to model for and put it on my wall so I see it every day to visualize it.
