CSM Game-Changer Issue with Cristiano Ronaldo 2019 BODY ISSUE - Lauren Flodquist | Page 312
CSM: How do you keep yourself educated or updated
for latest trends and information in healthy living or
lifestyle?
ROSE: I have a bachelor’s in biochemistry and post-
bacc in biomedical sciences. I keep up to date on the
latest healthy lifestyle through articles, conferences,
webinars, and continuing education. I also like to net-
work with the local community to learn what different
coaches are doing for their clients and patients.
CSM: How important is food and nutrition to you as a
model, athlete or as an individual?
ROSE: Food and nutrition is incredibly important to
me, it’s a lifestyle. Nutrition is medicine, and I treat it
as such. Your body needs food to heal, grow, develop,
rest properly, perform, hormone stability, even for
good mental health. If we all treated food as medicine,
I think we would all be much healthier.
CSM: Describe the essential skills to be effective in
maintaining your figure or shape.
ROSE: Consistent nutrition and exercise are the es-
sential skills to maintaining my figure.
CSM: What are your ideas about non-organic food
versus organic?
ROSE: I think it is important to consume organic food
vs nonorganic foods. Our bodies are designed to di-
gest organic food. We are organic beings. Although
our bodies will adjust to our environment, when we
expose our bodies to foreign radicals, we develop ill-
nesses (such as cancer).
CSM: What are your views on an all-meat diet versus
a vegan diet?
ROSE: I believe we are like fingerprints, each one of
us is built very similar in design but we are all differ-
ent. We each need to find our balance and what diet
serves our bodies, best. Some bodies prefer high pro-
tein, and some bodies require more carbohydrates and
fats.
CSM: What groups of food do you usually eat?
ROSE: I eat all groups of clean food: protein, carbs,
fats, fruits & veggies!
CSM: Do you think customized meal plans are really
necessary? Why is that?
ROSE: I do believe that customized meal plans are
necessary to obtain certain goals because your body
requires certain macrobiotics to make certain changes.
It will all depend on what your goals are as to how
your meal plan should be designed.
CSM: Any fitness goals for yourself? What are you
aiming now?
ROSE: My fitness goals for this year are to stay lean
and compete in an NPC Bikini show in the Fall.
CSM: There are a lot of online coaches and lifestyle
advisers out in the market already, what are the factors
that people should take into consideration when hiring
a personal trainer or online coaches or maybe invest-
ing some time and money to them?
ROSE: First, I want to say that your health is a great
investment. Depending on what your goals are, de-
termines what kind of coach to look for. You want to
look for a coach that does what you need them to do.
Are they experienced? Do their clients get results? Are
they affordable, or fit within your budget? Will they
provide everything you need to obtain your goals? Are
they available when you are? These are some ques-
tions to ask yourself when looking for a coach.
CSM: As a fitness and health enthusiast, what are the
essential exercises you have to do? Why is that?
ROSE: Because I want to maintain a lean look, I do
cardio, daily. I train upper body and lower body 2-3
times/week to keep tone. I train glutes, daily, to de-
velop and maintain that “Brazilian Booty” look.
CSM: Do you have any gym etiquette advice for other
people?
ROSE: Yes! Always put the weights back, clean up
after yourself, and don’t hog up the machines.
CSM: Fact or myth? Does working out daily improve
one’s sexual stamina or prowess during sexual activ-
ity? Why do you say so?
ROSE: Yes, it’s a fact! When you work out, you in-
crease libido because you are releasing natural en-
dorphins, increasing production of sex hormone, and
building confidence in yourself. Not only will you
look sexy, but you feel it, too!
CSM: Fact or myth? Does living a healthy lifestyle
keeps you happy and young? Why is that?
ROSE: Fact. I am almost 44 years old and no one ever
believes I’m over 35. By maintaining a healthy life-
style, you create confidence in yourself, reduce risk
of disease/illnesses, and increase stamina. When you
feel good, you look good, and that makes you happy
and youthful.
CSM: If you are our health ambassador and a lifestyle
advocate, how would you help promote healthy living
in school or in corporate world?
ROSE: I am actually continuing education to become
a certified Health Coach. I love inspiring healthy hab-
its. I post my workouts on social media almost daily.
I also post recipes and how-to meal prep. I post trans-
formation photos and some modeling photos. Living
healthy is a lifestyle and I love promoting my passion
if it helps and/or inspires others.
CSM: A lot of your followers are curious to know
these, if there’s any food and beverage that you cannot
resist what would that be and why?
ROSE: I love dark chocolate, fudge brownies and ice
cream. Although they are hard to resist, I apply disci-
pline when I need to. It is healthy to do everything in
moderation. So, indulge once a week!
CSM: Any advice to individuals who wants to gain
weight and lean muscle? Advise to people who want
to lose weight and be sexy?
ROSE: My advice is to focus on your goals, daily. Find
a great coach who can guide you. Remember consis-
tent nutrition and exercise is key, regardless what your
goals are. Never give up on yourself.
