CSM Game-Changer Issue with Cristiano Ronaldo 2019 BODY ISSUE - Lauren Flodquist | Page 228
CSM: This is your feature debut to be on Center Stage
Magazine, what is the experience like when you are
included in our roster for 2019’s Summer Body is-
sue?
MIGUEL: It’s a great honor to be featured in Center
Stage Magazine. It’s awesome to be a part of a publi-
cation that promotes health, fitness and lifestyle.
CSM: What do you think makes Center Stage Maga-
zine stand-out or makes it unique in other publica-
tions around the globe?
MIGUEL: Center Stage Magazine is authentic, using
diversity and relatable models that inspire and moti-
vate people to be empowered
CSM: What are the duties and responsibilities that
entail to your current profession or career?
MIGUEL: My responsibilities lie in offering realistic
and achievable fitness goals without any gimmicks.
It’s my duty as a fitness professional to stay up to
date with all the latest research to deliver the best
program.
CSM: This year’s bimonthly edition is about going
for game-changing results in careers and individual-
ity and inspiring people (being a beacon of inspira-
tion); describe how you defied your limits and exude
confidence in your career and what did you do to
push those boundaries.
MIGUEL: When I set a goal I get inspired by other
successful people. It’s about being fearless in your
pursuit of reaching your goals. It’s ok to fail time and
time again but you have to keep going and never give
up.
CSM: Being assertive and attentive is required for
this profession. Have you ever made or encountered
difficult decisions? How did you manage that?
MIGUEL: Difficult decisions will always present
themselves, so I feel it’s important to be able to not
get too emotional, think with your head not too much
with your heart. Zoom out of a situation and think
about the bigger picture, but some people need to be
told a hard truth. I’m confident that if you’re giving
advice from a good place, it will ultimately be well
received with gratitude.
CSM: How do you handle the situation if people get
intimidated by you and your work?
MIGUEL: I aim to treat everyone with respect, and
always make an effort to get to know them.
I think once people connect with you on a real level
people feel comfortable and reassured.
CSM: What game-changing results do you look for-
ward this year?
MIGUEL: My game-changing result this year is to
start my own clothing brand focusing on inspiring
others and traveling more often.
CSM: Describe the person who made an impact in
your life and how that is significant.
MIGUEL: My good friend Daniella Taveras was di-
agnosed with cancer last year to see her go through
the struggle and worry of her diagnosis yet still main-
tain a positive attitude, her determination to change
her whole way of life by adapting a healthier lifestyle
and her strong sense strength of character, inspired
me greatly
CSM: How do you set goals for yourself?
MIGUEL: When I have a goal, I break down into
small manageable parts, it’s always important for me
to have and action plan, similar to a checklist. I also
find it helpful getting advice from people who are
experts in the goals I’m trying to achieve.
CSM: What exactly motivates you to be a game-
changer and how do you do it?
MIGUEL: Ultimately, it’s all about self-belief. You
have to believe that you can bring something extra
to the table. As a kid I played a lot of sport and saw
how that helped out a lot of troubled kids from the
neighborhood. That self-belief that you can accom-
plish anything motivates me.
CSM: Describe the true nature of being sexy and an
eye-catching individual.
MIGUEL: Being confident in your own skin.
CSM: The industry you are in right now is very fast-
paced, full of competition and full of talent and un-
avoidable politics at times. What makes you stand
out and how do you keep up with talented people
around you?
MIGUEL: Try and not copy anyone. Find something
you love, enjoy and be dedicated to work hard to
master that skill. Also, be open to put yourself out
there, stay on top of the trends, and stay up-to-date
what on people are looking, the fitness industry has
a lot of trends that come and go. Find something that
has substance.
CSM: Work-wise, what does it take to be successful
in this type of profession?
MIGUEL: It takes hard work! I believe working in
the fitness industry means that you have to be able
to walk the walk, if you going to talk the talk. I train
hard, because I also expect my clients to train hard
also, how I can I be a source of motivation and inspi-
ration if I’m not willing to back up what I say.
CSM: What is your great advice to those who will
venture this kind of work?
MIGUEL: Be willing to learn, take people’s advice,
be prepared to put in long hours and stay focused.
CSM: Cast a magic spell and wave your magic wand,
where do you see yourself ten years from now?
MIGUEL: Having a successful fitness and clothing
brand that allows me to travel and inspire people
through a business that is connected in various media
platforms.
