CSM: How do you keep yourself educated or updat-
ed for latest trends and information in healthy living
or lifestyle?
MELANIE: I pay attention to many different things
to keep my self-educated on trends and healthy liv-
ing. I pay attention to what my kids are doing, listen-
ing to, as well as Instagram. There’s the news, and
many apps I use as well.
CSM: How important is food and nutrition to you as
a model, athlete or as an individual?
MELANIE: Food and nutrition is extremely impor-
tant because it’s the fuel your body needs to keep go-
ing. You have to choose the right fuel though...
CSM: Describe the essential skills to be effective in
maintaining your figure or shape.
MELANIE: I pay attention to what I eat and the lev-
el of exercise I do. For example if I’m going to be
on vacation and away from my kitchen I will most
likely work out more/do more cardio. I also don’t
drink alcohol.
CSM: What are your ideas about non-organic food
versus organic?
MELANIE: Both have a time and place. If I’m go-
ing to eat the whole fruit like a strawberry I’ll buy
organic. But if it’s a banana I’ll get regular ones.
CSM: What are your views on an all-meat diet versus
a vegan diet?
MELANIE: Both are great diets. I prefer meat. To
each his own.
CSM: What groups of food do you usually eat?
MELANIE: All of them!
CSM: Do you think customized meal plans are really
necessary? Why is that?
MELANIE: I think if you’re not seeing results from
eating a healthy diet (meaning no sugar- and low
fat) then maybe something more customized is more
beneficial. Every human is different and processes
food differently. What works for me isn’t going to
work for everyone.
CSM: Any fitness goals for yourself? What are you
aiming now?
MELANIE: Just trying to stay below 20% body fat.
Working on staying limber as I get older.
CSM: There are a lot of online coaches and lifestyle
advisers out in the market already, what are the fac-
tors that people should take into consideration when
hiring a personal trainer or online coaches or maybe
investing some time and money to them?
MELANIE: Ask questions!! Ask to speak to their
other clients. Don’t be afraid to ask for transforma-
tion pics. Find out what their specialties are.
CSM: As a fitness and health enthusiast, what are the
essential exercises you have to do? Why is that?
MELANIE: Core work is essential. Working your
core improves your balance and stability which is
beneficial for everyday life activities.
CSM: Do you have any gym etiquette advice for oth-
er people?
MELANIE: Wipe and re-rack...And don’t be
weird...
CSM: Fact or myth? Does working out daily improve
one’s sexual stamina or prowess during sexual activ-
ity? Why do you say so?
MELANIE: Fact. And that’s all I’m going to say
about that!
CSM: Fact or myth? Does living a healthy lifestyle
keeps you happy and young? Why is that?
MELANIE: Living a healthy lifestyle can only do so
much. If you hate your job or have stress in your life
you will not be happy.
CSM: If you are our health ambassador and a life-
style advocate, how would you help promote healthy
living in school or in corporate world?
MELANIE: Visit schools/businesses during lunch.
Ask them what they are eating...do they know what
is healthy. Visit schools during PE and see what they
know about being healthy/fit. Also hold seminars at
businesses on ways to stay healthy while at work.
CSM: A lot of your followers are curious to know
these, if there’s any food and beverage that you can-
not resist what would that be and why?
MELANIE: I love the occasional Dr. Pepper and piz-
za...And because it tastes good.....
CSM: Any advice to individuals who wants to gain
weight and lean muscle? Advise to people who want
to lose weight and be sexy?
MELANIE: Whatever you want to do...do it slow,
otherwise the results won’t last. Eat healthy and be
active! Sexy is a feeling... You don’t have to lose
weight to be sexy
