CSM: This is your feature debut to be on Center Stage Magazine, what is the experience like when you are included in our roster for 2019’s Summer Body is- sue? MELANIE: Pretty awesome since I thought I was done modeling 20 years ago... CSM: What do you think makes Center Stage Maga- zine stand-out or makes it unique in other publica- tions around the globe? MELANIE: It’s more than just pictures. It’s a be- hind the scenes look at the featured model. CSM: What are the duties and responsibilities that entail to your current profession or career? MELANIE: I own and operate a gym so there are many duties from cleaning, paying bills keeping all equipment in working condition and dealing with customers. The list goes on... CSM: This year’s bimonthly edition is about going for game-changing results in careers and individual- ity and inspiring people (being a beacon of inspira- tion); describe how you defied your limits and exude confidence in your career and what did you do to push those boundaries. MELANIE: I never let my age deter me from what I wanted to do. Most people feel like their dreams are over because they’ve hit that 40 year mark. If any- thing its made me want to keep chasing my dreams- keep pushing. Especially if someone says I can’t or I shouldn’t. CSM: Being assertive and attentive is required for this profession. Have you ever made or encountered difficult decisions? How did you manage that? MELANIE: I have made some difficult decisions, sure. When encountered with a difficult decision I usu- ally do nothing until I thoroughly think it through. CSM: How do you handle the situation if people get intimidated by you and your work? MELANIE: Always let everyone know that I’m just a regular mom... No different from anyone else chas- ing their dreams. CSM: What game-changing results do you look for- ward this year? MELANIE: I’m looking forward to caring even less about other people’s opinions. CSM: Describe the person who made an impact in your life and how that is significant. MELANIE: I don’t have a hero or an idol. I am the one that has made an impact on my life. My hus- band has been extremely supportive of anything I’ve wanted to do. If anything it’s the people we don’t hear enough about that have impacted me. The ones who do things in silence and don’t need everyone to know it. CSM: How do you set goals for yourself? MELANIE: I set goals for myself by writing them down and tackling them one at a time. CSM: What exactly motivates you to be a game- changer and how do you do it? MELANIE: The only thing that motivates me is my- self. I know what I’m capable of and can push my- self to what I want if possible. CSM: Describe the true nature of being sexy and an eye-catching individual. MELANIE: Sexy and eye-catching isn’t how I look or what I’m wearing. It knows I’m not better than anyone else. It’s taking the time to really listen to the people around you. CSM: The industry you are in right now is very fast- paced, full of competition and full of talent and un- avoidable politics at times. What makes you stand out and how do you keep up with talented people around you? MELANIE: I don’t know if I stand out or not but I only try to keep up with my own expectations. I don’t worry about the people around me. CSM: Work-wise, what does it take to be successful in this type of profession? MELANIE: To be successful in any profession is to listen. CSM: What is your great advice to those who will venture this kind of work? MELANIE: You will mess up. And it’s okay. Don’t beat yourself up about it. Learn, grow and move on. CSM: Cast a magic spell and wave your magic wand, where do you see yourself ten years from now? MELANIE: Running a successful gym with my husband while teaching girls of all ages to be better cheerleaders-even the NFL cheerleaders.
