CSM: What are the duties and responsi-
bilities that entail to your current profes-
sion or career?
GERARDO: To make sure I am setting the
best example of the fitness lifestyle and that
is a lifestyle that can be flexible, fun and re-
warding.
CSM: This year’s bimonthly edition is
about going for game-changing results in
careers and individuality and inspiring
people (being a beacon of inspiration); de-
scribe how you defied your limits and ex-
ude confidence in your career and what
did you do to push those boundaries.
GERARDO: I was able to bring a more life-
style approach to fitness and bodybuilding.
This helped through social media expand
the boundaries and erase stigmas about gym
rats.
CSM: Being assertive and attentive is re-
quired for this profession. Have you ever
made or encountered difficult decisions?
How did you manage that?
GERARDO: Discipline is at the core of fit-
ness. I attribute that to my time in the Unit-
ed States Marine Corps that shaped me and
sharpened those skills.
CSM: How do you handle the situation if
people get intimidated by you and your
work?
GERARDO: My goal is to help people real-
ize I am just like them. I converse to anyone.
CSM: What game-changing results do you
look forward this year?
GERARDO: The expansion of my clothing
brand and become a better IFBB Pro Com-
petitor.
CSM: Describe the person who made an
impact in your life and how that is signifi-
cant.
GERARDO: My father. His incredible work
ethic translates into everything I do today.
CSM: How do you set goals for yourself?
GERARDO: I try to set the hardest goals
for myself that are in my career path. Even if
things don’t go how I expected, the goal was
so high that I reach a level of success regard-
less.
CSM: What exactly motivates you to be a
game-changer and how do you do it?
GERARDO: Honestly, not being average or
like anyone else is what motivates me.
CSM: Describe the true nature of being
sexy and an eye-catching individual.
GERARDO: Beauty is in the eye of the be-
holder. At the end of the day we are all human
and looks are just the exterior.
CSM: The industry you are in right now is
very fast-paced, full of competition and full
of talent and unavoidable politics at times.
What makes you stand out and how do you
keep up with talented people around you?
GERARDO: My resilience to never give up.
So many people nowadays give up so easy,
it’s there for the taking on those that don’t
give up.
CSM: Work-wise, what does it take to be
successful in this type of profession?
GERARDO: To be a unique individual who
has confidence in themselves.
CSM: What is your great advice to those
who will venture this kind of work?
GERARDO: Don’t worry about the opinions
of others. Just have faith in yourself.
CSM: Cast a magic spell and wave your
magic wand, where do you see yourself ten
years from now?
GERARDO: Owning a very successful cloth-
ing company.
