ON FITNESS AND ON HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CSM: How do you keep yourself educated or updated for latest trends and informa- tion in healthy living or lifestyle? LAUREN: I’m not one for fads or trends. I stick to what I know works for me. I think that’s very important. So many people have so many different bodies and needs. I do love to comb IG to see what the newest things are and sometimes I will incorporate some new into the old. CSM: How important is food and nutri- tion to you as a model, athlete or as an in- dividual? LAUREN: For me 100% important. I have a lot of food allergies so if I’m not careful I can make myself sick. You’re only going to feel as good as what you fuel your body with. CSM: Describe the essential skills to be effective in maintaining your figure or shape. LAUREN: For me, I eat the same kinds of foods on prep or off. I rarely eat dairy, or fast food. Actually, I never eat fast food, never. I will cheat with indulgent things, but they have to be high quality ingredients. CSM: What are your ideas about non-or- ganic food versus organic? LAUREN: I’m pro organic. I’m always mind- ful of the quality of what I put in my body; even my vitamins. You won’t catch me buying cheap brands of anything supplement wise because you get what you pay for. CSM: What are your views on an all-meat diet versus a vegan diet? LAUREN: I respect anyone’s choice on not wanting to eat meat. To each their own. I my- self enjoy meat. I also love vegan foods. As long as it’s yummy and healthy, that’s what is important. CSM: What groups of food do you usually eat? LAUREN: Proteins: Chicken, turkey, eggs, fish, bison and lean beef. Carbs: Sweet pota- toes, brown and jasmine rice, red skin pota- toes and rice cakes. Veggies: any, I love them all except carrots. Fats: almonds, macadamia nut oil, almond or peanut butter. CSM: Do you think customized meal plans are really necessary? Why is that? LAUREN: I think whatever works for the in- dividual is best. Everyone is different. CSM: Any fitness goals for yourself? What are you aiming now? LAUREN: I’m about to start leaning down for some photo shoots and I’d like to get back on stage in 2020. CSM: There are a lot of online coaches and lifestyle advisers out in the market already, what are the factors that people should take into consideration when hiring a personal trainer or online coaches or maybe invest- ing some time and money to them? LAUREN: The proof is in the pudding. Re- search the coach’s clients. Find a coach whose clients look the way you want to. You can always switch coaches and find someone that you like. I need someone who puts me as a priority. If I’m going to spend money, I have to make sure the communication factor and attention to my personal detail is strong. CSM: As a fitness and health enthusiast, what are the essential exercises you have to do? Why is that? LAUREN: All deadlift variations, hip thrusts, squats, lateral raises, shoulder presses, I could go on and on. I LOVE to lift heavy. I love plate loaded old school equipment. Pret- ty much the gym is my adult playground and I can lift for hours if I had the time. CSM: Do you have any gym etiquette ad- vice for other people? LAUREN: Please keep the grunting to a min- imal. But in all seriousness, just be respectful. Be respectful of other people’s space, time, and germ factor. And for the love of all that’s holy, “RACK YO’ WEIGHTS!” CSM: Fact or myth? Does working out dai- ly improve one’s sexual stamina or prow- ess during sexual activity? Why do you say so? LAUREN: I’ve been celibate for a long time so I can’t answer this. I apologize. When I’m married then I will let ya’ll know.
