Environmental and Sustainability Studies
The environmental and sustainability studies program focuses on the challenges we face with society, the environment, and the economy. Students in environmental and sustainability studies learn how to assess and implement sustainable opportunities, understand climate change, ecosystem services, and environmental justice. Students take courses while simultaneously performing research in areas such as controlling invasive plant species and collecting data on tree population and growth at the Alta Ski Resort. Additionally, the program offers several exciting internship opportunities in the university and the local community, including the University of Utah’ s Edible Campus Garden and Utah’ s Clean the Air Challenge.
