In the name of depicting human psychology, they depict disappointment, desperation, suicides, murders, thefts, robberies, prostitution and various crimes as natural phenomena to humanity and say that because of them only human beings are suffering from poverty. They propound that the human beings had to endure these evils and life is like that. Their literature propagates that strong persons are only qualified to live and weak persons are unqualified to live. It also says that the ultimate solution for the weak is death and that wars are natural. Thus hiding the real reasons for the deprivation of human beings, the bourgeois writers produce stories, novels, plays and articles etc. Writers like Jean Paul Sartre and Bertrand Russel are creating this sort of decadent literature. These writings aim to divert people from class struggle.
Surrealism, Symbolism, Expressionism, Dadaism, Imagism, Formalism, Naturalism and such‘ isms’ reflect the stage of deterioration of capitalist society and the decadent stage of literature. The object of all these isms is to support the putrefying capitalist system by hook or crock. These are the misleading ways treaded by pessimists who lost hope and confidence over life and by those who spew hatred on human beings. They are distanced from people in content and form. These are the poisonous flowers( writings) flowered to the tree of literature of the deteriorating capitalist class. These are the products of despaired writers for their self satisfaction and solace. Some of these decadent writings pollute the lives of people and literature. During the recent oppression of the communists by the Congress government, even Telugu literature fell in the groove of American sex September-2026 and obscene literature. It attempted in vain to pollute the healthy culture of the people. But it was defeated by the morale of the people which they acquired through political education.
Moreover, they say that art is for art sake and that there should not be any connection between politics and literature. They claim that their literature belongs to‘ pure art’ and it is not propaganda literature. They always look for money bags and moneyed classes. In the fields of art, science and literature, they directly or indirectly make propaganda for the benefit of moneyed classes. They always work for their masters. Their slogans“ Cosmopolitanism”,“ World Citizenship”“ Universal Government” etc. intend to hoodwink people and to keep the capitalist system in tact. Not only that, with the intention of keeping the entire world in their grip, they are eagerly waiting for aggression. This has become clear when they opened war against North Korea and intervened in the internal struggles of Formosa, Indochina and Philippines in the name of military aid. Truman( President of US) had clearly declared accordingly. The conspiracies of US in Kashmir, Iran etc. are well known to the world.
W riters like Viswanatha Satyanarayana with their reactionary writings, support the regressive ideas of going back to the caste based feudal, slave societies intend to swim against the tide of revolution. Just because they are in power, they praise the deteriorating and decaying upper classes in their novels and they close their eyes to the ever growing lower classes becoming strong with powerful ideologies.
ART, SCIENCE AND LITERATURE— ECONOMIC SYSTEM
Art, science and literature mainly depend on social and economic systems. They reflect the social existence, social relations of production and the awareness attained through them. Social awareness is of different forms. They help to change the social, political and economic systems and the relations connected with them. But as Karl Marx told, they will not decide the social existence itself. Moreover the social existence decides them. Not only that, the effect falls compulsorily on each other mutually.
DEVELOPMENT OF SCEIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE IN THE PRESENT SOCIETY— LESS OPPURTUNITIES FOR COMMON PEOPLE
Many mysteries of human life are revealed with the hitherto developed art, science and literature. We do not know how many more secrets are hiding in the world. There is a lot of scientific knowledge to acquire and lot of things to be invented. Each secret that is revealed up to now has turned into a piece of art, or into a unique science or into a form of literature. All these are not available to all the people except in the Soviet states. In the existing mode of production and production relations, the results of the scientific research and inventions are not within the reach of even for those who are economically and financially well and highly educated. Leave alone using them and implementing them, there are no sufficient opportunities to common people even to understand different fundamental principles of these inventions. In these circumstances it is highly difficult to any one to obtain all round knowledge. That is why we rarely find such people. SCIENCE AND ITS BRANCHES AND SUB-BRANCHES There is an increasing trend of many subordinate and extraneous branches in art, science and literature. In the field of science more and more branches and sub branches are increasing rather than in literature and arts. The
