Our Tributes to Swami Agnivesh

A social activist , scholor and Arya Samaji leader Swami Agnivesh passed away in a Hospital in Delhi on Sept ’ 11 , 2020 owing to multi organ failure . He was 80 years .
Swami Agnivesh dedicated his entire life for the upliftment of down-trodden , oppressed and other toiling people . In 1970 , he founded Arya Sabha based on Arya Samaj principles and continued as its international leader . He was elected to Haryana Assembly in 1977 and later became an Education Minister . He resigned in protest against the police firing on workers protesting against the system of bonded labour . He founded the Bonded Labour Liberation Front in 1981 . He was active in several protest movements in defense of civil and democratic rights ; against social oppression on dalits ; atrocities against women and opposed state repression against the people . He was active in anti-corruption protests and fought for legal safeguards against Corruption . He used democratic and peaceful protest as a means to win or defend the rights and lives of down-trodden and toiling people . He opposed communal chauvinism and stood for communal harmony . He suffered brutality in the hands of BJP and RSS lynch mob in Jharkhand for supporting the tribals protesting against the land acquisition . With his demise , the working class and oppressed people have lost a true friend and companion . We pay our tributes to him .

All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee , ( AIKSCC )

Major Farmer Federations with over 500 constituent organizations , including the entire Working Group and state chapter representatives of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee ( AIKSCC ) and the federations led by farmer leaders Sardar Balbir Singh Rajewal and Gurnam Singh Chanduni met today at Gurudwara Rakabganj , New Delhi and announced the following historic decisions :
1 . There shall be a massive coordination of farmer federations to spearhead the fight against the 3 antifarmer , anti-people Farm Acts 2020 and Electricity Bill 2020 . This shall be led by the newly launched Program Coordination Body .
2 . There shall be a Committee of the Coordination Body which shall include VM Singh , Balbir Singh Rajewal , Gurnam Singh , Raju Shetty and Yogendra Yadav . The Committee shall take coordinate the initial two programs accounced . 3 . An All India Road Blockade shall be organized on 5th November 2020 . 4 . A “ Delhi Chalo ” protest shall be held on 26-27th November 2020 . 5 . The demand shall be focussed on withdrawal of recently passed 3 Farm Acts and Electricity Bill 2020 . 6 . The protests will include huge state-wise / region-wise build up of mass mobilizations and movements focussing on these demands . 6 . All over India farmers will protest before govt offices including central govt offices and offices of BJP leaders and their allies as well corporates . 7 . The meeting condemned the Central Govt ’ s . decision to stop operation of goods trains to Punjab unless passenger trains start plying - this is blackmail of the people and famers of Punjab and is most unbecoming of a democratic govt .

land use must be socially controlled . It cannot be dictated by considerations of private profitability . True , since land is in the possession of the peasants , they have to be looked after even while land use is being socially controlled . They must , in short , get a remunerative price
12 even as land-use is being socially controlled … This is what the existing arrangement tried to achieve , which the present government wants to destroy … Imperialism would like such destruction ; and the BJP government is happily obliging .”
As a predominantly agrarian society , where social control over land use and land rights for the peasantry was institutionalised through rigorous reforms , the people of J & K stand to lose immensely at the hands of this agenda of destruction .
