Bharat Bandh on 27th September :

The Aggression of Exploiting Class can be Challenged with the United Agitation of Various Forces !!

The Bharat Bandh decision was taken at a national conference held at Delhi ’ s Singhu Border last month under the auspices of the Samyukt Kisan Morcha . The conference saw representation from many states . Since then , preparations have been made by the peasantry in various states . This Bharat Bandh marking the first anniversary of the dedicated movement of farmers against the antipeople laws is made a success by the active participation of the working class along with the peasantry and the support from other oppressed sections of people . The Bandh impacted over 22 states from Jammu to Tamil Nadu .
In Punjab Bandh was complete with demonstrations held at nearly 400 places . In this process around 50 trains came to a halt . In Haryana and half of Uttar Pradesh , Bandh was equally serious and voluntary , as per the reports . In Tripura , Rajasthan , and Jharkhand also the Bandh was comprehensive . Traffic came to a standstill for hours in Delhi . The rail operations in Delhi , Haryana , UP , Orissa , Tamil Nadu , Bihar and many other places were impacted . Highways were briefly blocked in Gujrat and traffic was halted on the Surat-Mumbai highway . In Hyderabad demonstrations were held in the incessant rain . Even people of Jammu and Kashmir held demonstrations .
In Cities and towns , the impact of bandh is high in places like Gurgaon , where there are industrial areas and where the trade unions are active . In Maharashtra - Sholapur , Industrial areas of Mumbai , Nashik and Vidarbha where there are peasant movements and districts with Adivasi people welcomed the bandh .
Apple farmers of Himachal Pradesh , some of the districts of Assam participated in the bandh . In Bengal , Orissa , Bihar , Jharkhand , Telangana , Andhra Pradesh Tamil Nadu , Kerala and Karnataka where there are already mass movements and struggles , in village where peasantry is organised to some extent , the Bharat bandh has an impact .
Hundreds of Farmers ’ Unions , Kheth Mazdoor Unions , TU ’ s and mass organisations participated voluntarily in the bandh , some jointly and some individually throughout the country . They held meetings and demonstrations wherever they have a foot-hold . In some places various art forms with bulls , ploughs and tractors were demonstrated in the protests . In these protests , antiimperialist and anti-corporate slogans were heard along
with slogans for the abolition of anti-farm and anti-labour 28
The Bharat Bandh highlighted that peasant-working class alliance is the need of the hour ! laws . The unions and organisations gave some political education to the people not just on the day of Bharat Bandh but also during the course of preparations for the bandh .
The BJP has been campaigning for over a year through its media against the farmers ’ movement which has been exposing its friendly attitude and its aggressive implementation of pro-imperialist and comprador policies . It seems the people of all the sections who made this Bandh a success , answered those BJP campaigns . It was not a coincidence that the Prime Minister had brought a programme , ‘ Release of Health Cards ’ on the same day of the bandh and sought to attract the national and international media . Most of the ruling and opposition parties have made every effort to say that the bandh was not successful . In some states like Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh , though the states appeared to show solidarity for the movement , they blocked the bandh protests in many places in the name of establishing peace , out of their fear for the centre . 300 workers and farmers were arrested in Ambattur , Chennai and Belgam , Bagalkot , Karnataka . In Karnataka and Telangana , the ruling parties have worked with the BJP and its allies to foil the bandh .
In a word , the bandh , like its 10 month long dedicated movement at Delhi , brought to wider discussion , the pro corporate policies aggressively implemented by the State . Through leaflets , posters , banners , and social media , it took the socio , economic discussions to the masses . It saw poets , artists and intellectuals stand in solidarity . It saw the active participation of students , youth and women . The organized sector and to some extent , the unorganized sector , have largely stood in support of the peasantry . Even small traders , their associations and small industries have voluntarily cooperated in many states . Those carrying the burden of the crisis imposed by the exploiting classes and the sections experiencing hardship should have responded in favour of this bandh . We salute all the activists , people , fellow mass organisations and parties who made the bandh a success .
The experience of this Bharat Bandh should invigorate the programs against the exploitative imperialist policies that are the root causes for these anti-agriculture , antipeople laws and also against the political comprador forces that support them .
