Comrade Khokan Majumdar died on May 29 , 2017 . His original name was Abdul Hamid . He came to Kolkata from the then Pakistan , now Bangladesh . In the year 1946 at the age of 14 he joined as a worker in a Kolkata hospital , and as an active member of Hospital Staff Organisation , he became a member of the communist party unit . He was imprisoned several times for participating in the agitations organised by the communist party . He was sent to Darjeeling for organisational work in 1954 . After working in different fields of the organisation he went to Naxalbari according to the direction of the party in 1967 , together with Comrades Kanu Sanyal and Khudan Lal Mallik . He worked there in peasants ’ organisation . He went to China along with Comrade Kanu Sanyal and with other peasant leaders . Despite the initial setback of the Naxalbari movement , he continued his political career with revolutionary conviction and zeal . It is our responsibility to remember him and learn from his entire experiences of 70 years life . He remains as a source of revolutionary inspiration to younger generations .

I think it ’ s for the people like me who are working class , who are supposed to be processed into the middle classes , or into the machinery . It ’ s my experience , and I hope it ’ s just a warning to people .
