Memorial Meeting in Memory of Comrades Madhu , Jogen and Ashish- in Kolkata

On December15,2021 at Krishnapada Ghosh Memorial Hall in Kolkata , the West Bengal State Committee of the Communist Party of India ( Marxist-Leninist ) organised a meeting in memory of Comrade Madhu , CEC member , Comrade Ashish Majumder and Comrade Jogen Bishwakarmakar , both members of the West Bengal State Committee of the party . The meeting was presided over by Comrade Subodh Mitra , Comrade Kabiraj Rai , State Committee members of the CPI ( ML ), Comrade Pranab Nayak , editor , Eekshan and Comrade Pradip SinghThakur , representing the CPI ( ML ) - RED STAR .
Comrade Subodh Mitra , secretary of the State Committee at first spoke about the departed comrades after a minute ' s silence was observed .
Comrade Pranab Nayak then spoke about his experience with Comrade Ashish and also about the present situation . Comrade Pradip Singh Thakur after paying homage to departed comrades talked about the lessons of the victory of the peasant movement and need for united action . Then Comrade Dr Suresh Baine paid homage to the comrades and spoke about the need of unity of the communist revolutionaries . Then Comrade Basu Acharya spoke on his experiences of personal interactions with the three departed comrades and the importance of addressing the problems like the changes in agrarian production system and caste question . Then Comrade Aloke Mukherjee who arrived late due to traffic disorder spoke in brief about the comrades . Comrade Sumit Sinha representing the PCC , CPI ( M-L ) also spoke about the need for unity . Comrade Ananta Acharya spoke about the role played by the Bishwakarmakar family from
24 the time of Tebhaga movement when the state forced the predecessors of Comrade Jogen Bishwakarmakar to leave Khanpur in Dinajpur district and start residing at Naxalbari area in Darjeeling district . There were two brutal murders in Alappuzha . There was no conflict of any kind that could lead to such killings . There were no reports of any personal animosity between the two young men . Therefore , it is clear that the killings were premeditated . What exactly was the purpose of these murders ?
One thing is clear though . There are strong people protests everywhere against the neo-liberal policies pursued by the Modi government and the policies of the Pinarayi Vijayan government pursuing the same force . It is in this context that the murders are particularly noteworthy .
The success of the farmers ’ legendary struggles against antiagricultural laws that would have abolished even the ration system , the rising public health against the privatization of all public sector enterprises in India , the frequent rise in petroleum products , and the consequent rise in the prices of essential commodities , GST , the collapse of tens of millions of small businesses due to the ban on and the rise of India to the number one position in corruption have all plunged meetings with Comrade Madhu and Comrade Ashish Majumder . Comrade Kabiraj Rai spoke on the need of unity of CR forces . The recent agitation for national attention against the rail project has raised a great deal of public sentiment . It has always been the policy of the state to divide the people whenever the people come to the struggle together and the governments and the ruling classes are in crisis .
In fact , all kinds of religious fundamentalist and communal organizations are the products of the imperialist powers and the state system . They have always used such reactionary forces to deal with crises and popular struggles . Recognizing that this was behind the killings in Alappuzha , the people must be vigilant against the racial divisions of the people by the imperialist powers , the rulers and the religious and communal forces . At the same time , it calls for the strengthening of peoples resistance movements against the possibility of time .
