(Fig. 15)
Once that was done, I started on the
steampunk room and had no
problem whatsoever due to all my
mistakes I have learnt in the past
two scenes of the Crystal Palace
and Houses. Again, I looked back at
my concept art where there were
three and had to choose one piece.
It was because I did not have time
to be creative. At first I made a
basic layout of my room following
my concept art, and when I portrayed all my environment during formative with no animation except
for some animation test, Dan insisted I stop modelling and start animating straight away. He told me
that I should have started with the animation first, then modelling and texturing later.
From his feedback, I started on the animation, leaving the modelling and texturing of the room till the
very end where I got too creative with lots of props that never made it to the final cut. It was as if I was
working on my project backwards. This has taught me to follow the pipeline of animation and
understand it better to see it finished in a smooth and organised way.
