2023 season record : 11-18 eliminated from the Region 7C tournament by Watertown
Finally the Brewers , the team I rejoined midseason and became an “ embedded reporter ” for ( sounds cool ). I hadn ’ t played for the Brewers since 2009 , most of my teammates were barely in tee-ball at that time . What did I learn ? It ' s the same old fun shenanigans it was decades ago , just the addition of Twitter . Also , baseball is a timing game , and after an 11-year hiatus , my late timing is more evident than ever .
Throwing ; if the ball doesn ’ t slowly roll to the cutoff man from my outfield position I consider a win .
Departures : none official , but “ educational opportunities ” may be the deciding factor for some of the Brewers ' key players . Shortstop Jake Christianson (. 395 batting average ), outfielder Spencer Lemke (. 278 batting average ),

and catcher Zach Voelz (. 383 onbase percentage , 3.65 ERA in 24 ⅔ IP as a pitcher ) 2024 seasons are all up in the air due to the possibility of summer internship commitments .
Additions : Infielder Spencer Lillianthal will join the Brewers after spending the 2023 season with the Winsted Wildcats . Manager Clark Christianson said Lillianthal is tremendous defensively and can play multiple infield positions .
Korey Johnson will return to the Brewers after taking the 2023 season off . Johnson played for the Brewers from 2019-2022 , batting . 262 with a . 398 on-base percentage . Johnson also pitched for the Brewers , accumulating a 3.94 ERA in 105 innings pitched .
The Brewers were hindered greatly by injuries to key players such as starting second baseman Carter Ruschmeier , and center fielder Nate Litzau . Ruschmeier batted . 400 in only 28 plate appearances , while Nate Litzau was limited to only 45 . Litzau batted . 300 for the Brewers in 2022 .
The Brewers will also bring on the expertise of hitting coach Darryl Robinson . Robinson spent the 2023 season with the Winsted Wildcats .
Pitching : The Brewers were led by workhorse Derek Bratsch who led the team with 70 innings pitched and a 3.99 ERA .
Left-handed starting pitcher Ty Christensen pitched 41 ⅔ innings with a 2.38 ERA in limited action as he worked back from a knee injury . A healthy Christensen will look to contribute more in 2024 .
Lefty Jacob Baumgarten accounted for 36 innings pitched , striking out 29 . Closer Cole Petersen pitched seven innings , striking out 10 . Forecast : If the Brewers can stay healthy and retain some of their college talent in 2024 they will be a tough out come in regions .
