Alex Heimerl ( Winsted )
As valuable as Alex Heimerl was on the mound for Winsted he was just as important at the plate . Heimerl was a big part of the offense all season long for the Wildcats .
He finished with an average of . 259 which was the best on the team . He also had three doubles to go along with five RBI and eight runs scored . Bailey Melz ( Carver ) As good as Bailey Melz was on the mound for Carver , he was almost even better at the plate . Melz had a knack for coming through in big spots and did so time and time again leading the Black Sox to the state tournament .
One of the biggest moments for Melz came in the league playoffs in Game 2 against St . Boni when he delivered the walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth to send Carver to the Region 7C Tournament . The Black Sox rode that momentum all the way to the Class C state tournament .
Melz finished the league season with an average of . 281 to go along with one home run , four doubles , and 11 RBI out of the leadoff spot . Scott Finberg ( Brownton ) There ’ s just a different sound off the bat
when it comes to Scott Finberg . The offensive slugger for the Brownton Bruins , Finberg turned in another monster season .
Finberg finished the year with an average of . 387 . That was good enough for seventh best in the CRVL . He also had two home runs , six doubles , and 12 RBI . Gavin Vos ( Hamburg ) A player on the rise in the CRVL and to watch is Hamburg ’ s Gavin Vos . The catcher and offensive threat for the Hawks quietly turned in one of his best seasons of his young career .
Vos finished the year with an average of . 305 to go along with two doubles , 15 RBI , and seven runs scored . Robbie Smith ( Waconia ) The lineup for the Waconia Lakers is as good as it gets . It all starts with Robbie Smith near the top though .
Smith had another monster season for the Lakers doing a little bit of everything . He finished third in the league with an average of . 414 this year to go along with two home runs , four doubles , 13 RBI , and 20 runs scored . His 20 runs scored was tied for third most in the CRVL this season . Tate Wischnack ( New Germany ) There ’ s a ton of young players in the
CRVL and New Germany ’ s Tate Wischnack might be one of the best of them . Wischnack took a big step forward for the Dutchmen this season becoming a legitimate offensive threat .
Wischnack led the Dutchmen with a season average of . 295 to go along with five doubles and nine RBI . One of his biggest moments of the season was a walk-off home run against Mayer . Michael Barnes ( St . Boni ) As consistent as they , St . Boni ’ s Michael Barnes continued to do a little bit of everything for the Saints this season . Barnes showed he can hit for power and for average once again this year turning in another solid season for St . Boni .
He finished the year with an average of . 349 to go along with two home runs , 13 RBI , and six doubles . His six doubles was tied for fourth most in the league this year . Casey Clemensen ( Cologne ) The Cologne Hollanders had a season filled with ups and downs . Veteran Casey Clemensen helped the Hollanders have more highs than lows .
One of the more consistent players all around , Clemensen had another strong season for the Hollanders . He finished with an average of . 225 but was second on the team in RBI with 10 and second on the team in runs scored with 11 . Matt Odegaard ( Plato ) He ’ s still got it . Matt Odegaard of Plato showed he ’ s still one of the top players in the league as he had another monster season for the Bluejays .
Odegaard won the 2023 batting title leading the league with an average of . 436 . He also had three doubles , one home run , 24 RBI , and nine runs scored . His 24 RBI ranked second most in the league this season .

Good luck St . Boni Saints !
