Hello ! ( and hello ) from the Editors
Hard to believe we are now in the fourth issue of CRUX . What started as a small idea now has a life all of its own – and we couldn ’ t be more proud .
However , like any proud parent there comes a time when you need to let what you ’ ve created go so it can really fly . So , having been a labor of love from the start there was a definite tinge of sadness when I penned my last CRUX article a few months ago .
While I have had an absolutely amazing time working with the Optimal Workshop crew , between issue # 1 and issue # 3 I shifted city and my world changed . As I tread the path to pastures new I am delighted to hand the Editor reins to someone who is just as passionate about CRUX as I am .
So – a big welcome to Kay Seatter-Dunbar . As you will see she is an incredibly talented writer , editor , videographer and a whole lot more . She has also been freelancing for us writing articles for the path few months – so is no stranger to UX either . CRUX # 4 is really Kay ’ s first issue – I am just making a guest appearance to do the handover .
David Renwick Former editor / Optimal Workshop
So over to Kay Thanks , David - I ’ m thrilled to be furthering Optimal Workshop ’ s vision to build a community of people with a passion for all things UX through CRUX . A big thanks to all the inspiring and knowledgeable contributors , past and present , who have generously shared their thoughts , ideas , and expertise . As the demand for usability continues to grow , along with the rise of the digital experience economy , sharing learnings on how to create great user experiences is more valuable than ever .
This issue we ’ ve focussed on the big ‘ C ’. Not Covid-19 but collaboration , which faces ongoing challenges - and opportunities - from the global disruption caused by the pandemic . We invited our contributors to think about communication and teamwork . They ’ ve come up with some great reading that we believe has the power to enrich practice and stretch thinking . Enjoy .
