The big news in the off season was the hiring of Jason Holman as head football coach at Jacksonville High School .
Holman , a former Indian football standout , who played collegiatly at Stephen F . Austin State University , takes the reins of a team that has won just one game in each of the past two seasons .
Holman ’ s defensive background should pay immediate dividends for the Tribe , who gave up 39 points a game last season .
There are some noteworthy skilled players that are returning on the offensive side for the Indians . Quarterback Ryan McCown , who passed for 2,154 yards and 14 touchdowns last year , returns for his senior season .
McCown will have a solid group of wideouts to throw to . That group is led by trio of NCAA Division I commits : Devin McCuin ( Texas-San Antonio ), Koda Canady ( Lamar ) and Jermaine Taylor ( Texas San Antonio ).
Look for Holman to make some adjustments on the offensive side as well , as Jacksonville averaged just south
