Attack on Pearl Harbor
On December 7th, 1941 the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. President Franklin Roosevelt declared it,“ A day that will live in infamy.” Pearl Harbor was the second biggest attack on American soil. This was no doubt an underhanded attack. Japan hoped they could take out their biggest and strongest opponent the United States Navy. They also hoped such a big attack would frighten the U. S. into staying neutral. They failed as America entered the war soon after. Four years later Japan surrendered after the U. S. dropped atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. World War 2 was finally over.
