COB: Do you think every guy is looking for his Cinderella, and if so what can a girl do to be that sparkling diamond in the rough?

Spencer: Honestly, guys can be stupid. A lot of them are looking for 'arm candy' that they can show off. Same thing with girls that have wanted to date me in the past. They think it's all about the "hot" guy or "hot" girl. I know looks matter and that's how we can first get attracted to a girl, but for a lot of guys, it's about looks and physical attraction. Dad and I talked not too long ago about the types of love there are. He used to be a pastor and taught about three types of love. Friendship love (phileo), physical love (eros) and the kind of love where you would die for someone (agape). I know it's probably deep for a teen to think about, but most teens have the first two as their priority, and most guys are about eros. I guess for me, friendship love is most important for me right now. Being able to have her be my best friend more than anything is awesome. Eros is like kissing and more, and that's what a lot of guys and girls focus on. I think a girl needs to

first have confidence in who she is so that a guy won't change that image of herself. Girls try to be Cinderella too much, and I think Prince Charming was really in love with the girl he met after the ball. Like the real girl without the fancy dress. Just be the real you.

COB: As long as we're talking about Cinderella, what makes a true Prince Charming?

Spencer: Respect. Guys have to respect girls as someone's daughter or how he'd want a guy to treat her if she was his own daughter, I think. Of course, for me, that means to respect her like a daughter of God. I think a guy needs to be confident in his walk with God before a girl should ever be involved. If he isn't a real follower of Jesus, quit being distracted by how popular he is or what he looks like. Also, guys can be really jealous and possessive of a girl like she's "HIS", which is good, but a girl who has self-confidence will have a life separate from that guy, and he should respect her need to have that life apart from him. Like girl-time, and if she already has guy friends. Prince Charming isn't insecure.

COB: Any advice for all the Cinderellas out there who are spending Valentines Day (and every holiday!) without a boyfriend?

Spencer: First of all, if you know who you are in God, don't worry about who you look like in the eyes of your friends. A lot of girls are freaked out because their friends have boyfriends and they feel like they don't fit in. I know it may sound arrogant, but I've got a lot of girl admirers, and it stinks to not have one who I can just hang out with and stuff, but I also know I don't want a girlfriend just because other people have one. So I say they should find a close guy friend and just hang out and have fun. Who cares about labels. Even find a group of other girls who aren't in a relationship and just have fun. It's just sad that so many kids my age are so obsessed with being in a relationship. Just have fun.
