"You just have to remember that a relationship doesn’t define who you are! If you are feeling down, my advice is to keep busy all day with activities you like to do.
Hang out with your other single friends, make cookies, and watch a romantic comedy.
It will give you hope of someday finding your true love – just like in the movies – and it will make you sm:)e!"
Get your other single friends together to celebrate.
Being with friends is always a blast, and you’ll have a great time with friends rather than moping by yourself.
Go somewhere adventurous. On a hike, the paintball range, bowling, or ice skating are all good options because there are sure to be less couples there. Plus, exercise gives you endorphins, and endorphins make you happy!
Go shopping. I love to browse at the Dollar Store. Just be wise with your money!
Make some crafts. Crafting always takes my mind off whatever is bothering me. Plus, you’ll have a cute souvenir to remember your Valentine’s Day.
Have a movie night. I prefer to pick movies that have absolutely nothing to do with love. The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants is one of my favorites. (BTW, this movie has a love story subplot.)
Buy yourself something special. Every year I wished for a box of chocolates and flowers from a guy, but I’ve started buying them for myself instead. It’s a nice “pick-me-up. (Continued on pg 8)
Have a spa night. A mani/pedi and bubble bath is the perfect way to relax and enjoy your single Valentine’s Day.
Focus on someone else. Hand out Valentine’s cards to your friends (or total strangers!) Volunteer at the animal shelter. Visit the elderly folks at the nursing home. I promise that focusing on others will make your day so much brighter.
Pray for your future husband. Many of my friends regularly pray for their future husbands, so take time out of your Valentine’s Day to remember him and look forward to the holidays you’ll spend together. You could even write him a letter!
Spend the day with your Lord and Savior. He’s the only Valentine you need.
