Crown of Beauty: What advice do you have for girls who want to draw closer to God but feel like He is distant? How can they get to know Him better?
Kari: Take time to get alone and sit and talk to Him. I think the thing that steals from our relationship from God and makes us feel distant, is not allowing Him time to really pour His presence out on us while we’re just alone and with no one else. He is jealous for our hearts. He’ll speak to you if you take time to listen. His word can come alive when you take time to study it, as well. Start by doing devotionals and see how you feel uplifted from spending time with Him.
Crown of Beauty: As a married woman, if you could go back and tell your single self something and offer a piece of advice, what would you say?
Kari: I would tell myself to have a ton more friends and hang with groups, because you really get to know people a lot easier in groups. I would have done a lot better job guarding my young heart. It’s really hard to heal from a broken heart.
