Kari Jobe is an anointed worship leader at her home church, and has led thosands around the world into the presence of Jesus! She is passionate about making Jesus known, whether that's at her home church in Texas, doing interviews with Christian radio or recording a new album. Recently God has added another chapter to her life! That's right, last summer Kari heard wedding bells ringing. We asked her all about it!
Crown of Beauty: It's been so much fun watching your love story unfold with Cody. But let's return to the beginning, long before Cody even came into the picture. What caused you to hand the pen of your love story over to God & let Him be the Author?
Kari: I grew up in a Christian home with a wonderful mom and dad. I have always known that God would help me know when the right man had come into my life. I dated a few different guys while growing up and would have a lack of peace about marriage, and so I would end my relationship quite often. I knew that it would be important for me to marry someone who had the same passions as me and felt called to similar things. That helped me stay focused on waiting on God’s best for me.
Crown of Beauty: While you were waiting for your husband, did you ever get discouraged? If so, what encouraged you the most when you felt like the wait was getting too long?
Kari: I got discouraged each time I had to break off a relationship with boys in the past, but I had to follow where the peace was, and I never quite had it until Cody. I’ve always tried to surround myself with solid friends and mentors. I think it’s what consistently kept me on track to wait for God’s man for me.
