Moriah: Communicate honestly with God, each other and a mentor. Joel and I found that we were best able to communicate with one another if we were having personal time with God first. Be honest with someone you admire and trust about your struggles. It's easy to fall into guilt when you cross a line in relationship, but that only leads us to shame. God wants us to come to Him and openly communicate our faults, so that they lose their power over us.
Crown of Beauty: If you could only describe true, genuine, heart-felt, eternal love in one sentence, what would that sentence be?
Joel: I’m going to tweak the question a little, and describe ‘love’ in one word. If there was one word that I would use to describe love, I would use the word "sacrifice."
Moriah: Sacrifice.
Fun Fact! Joel and Moriah were interviewed seprately and didn’t know that we asked them both this question, yet they gave us the same answer!
Crown of Beauty: How can girls encourage the Christian guys around them to become Godly knights in shining armor, and how can guys encourage the Christian girls around them to be Godly princesses waiting in their tower?
Joel: Guys can encourage girls in this society that we live in, that is focused on body image, looks, beauty, and physicality. I think that a man can encourage a woman by focusing on the heart, by focusing on who the girl is, and not what the girl looks like or what the girl does. Really focus on who the girl is as a person; finding the most beautiful aspect of her character. Not only verbal words, but when a guy actually takes action it speaks to girls. Girls, I can’t speak for all men because everyone is unique and different, but when I feel most loved and cherished by my wife is when she shows me that she cares.
Moriah: Girls, I pray that we would know our worth and wait for a man who would recognize that value. How can we encourage our brothers to see us the way God sees us if we don't gain His perspective first? Men, as you make knowing Christ your aim, He will begin to give you His eyes for his daughters. Respect and serve every woman that comes in your path the way that Jesus did and does.
