1. BIGGER ISN'T ALWAYS BETTER

When choosing what eye shadow to wear, keep in mind that a little can go a long way. Just remember that there IS such a thing as "too much of a good thing." There are ways to add bolder colors without overdoing it. Natural, earthy tones are great, but if you want to blend in a pop of brighter color, try to choose colors that blend nicely with your skin-tone and eye color. {Hannah}

2. TAKE YOUR MAKEUP OFF EVERY NIGHT

It is very important to remove all your makeup before you go to sleep. Not only is it more comfortable, but it is better for your eyes' and skin’s health. {Sarah}

3. A SMILE IS THE BEST COSMETIC

The first feature I notice is a smile. In my opinion, people who actually put forth the effort to smile are automatically more beautiful. We need to realize that just one simple smile could turn someone’s entire day around. A smile is priceless and doesn’t fade away; it’s a fresh beginning in the midst of a difficult day.  It can be a sign of hope to those who are hopeless, so wear your smile more often. {Rachel}

4. REMOVE THE TOXINS

Makeup is fun and playful, but who wants to be dumping toxins into their skin every day? Nobody! Yet, what a lot of girls don't know is that many beauty products we use every day in the United States are actually toxic. Our skin is super absorbent and sucks in toxins even faster than our mouths do! But don't fret: there are so many all natural, totally organic, healthy alternatives out there.

I recommend pulling your personal care products out of your bathroom and visiting www.ewg.org/skindeep . Simply type the product you use into the search bar and discover how toxic or nontoxic it is! It's fun to play around with beauty products, but just make sure you're not playing around with toxins that could affect your health in the future. {Livy}

5. DON'T FOLLOW THE CROWD

If you find a style that you like, then go for it! Don't worry about what "everyone else is wearing!" You don’t have to wait for a random trend to pop up; start one yourself! Life's too short to not dress in a way that is fun & you-nique! {Hannah}

6. MODESTY STANDARDS

I have really struggled (and still do occasionally) with the super-high standards of dressing modestly in my family. But if something isn’t acceptable in your family, then it’s wrong for you to pursue it. I am incredibly thankful to my parents for keeping high standards, because without their rules, I might have let myself slip and regretted it later.{Ella}

7. EAT THE RAINBOW

Eat as many fruits and vegetables as you can and when you do, try to buy seasonally and organically if at all possible. This way you’re free of nasty pesticides and chemicals that can be very harmful to your body. If you have space, a fun thing to do is grow your own herbs, fruit, and vegetables to get the best possible taste and nutrition from your food. {Emily}

8. WONDERFUL WATER

Drink lots of water to stay hydrated and to keep your mind and body working at its best. Make a habit out of having a glass of water before you go to bed and after you wake up. This will help your cells rehydrate after going hours without any liquids. Every morning with your breakfast, drink hot water with lemon to alkalize and rehydrate. Add some fresh ginger for added goodness. {Emily}
