tested. God had placed Joseph in that jail for a reason - he was preparing him to lead Egypt. He had to hold onto what God had spoken to him before he came to Egypt. He did not realize that God was about to take him from the pit to the palace. He had to endure that season of imprisonment first, and wait on God to bring him out. Joseph had to choose not to become bitter with the process. While being imprisoned, God gave Him favor with the head jailer, and he was over all the prisoners. While in prison, he began to use the gift God had given him to interpret dreams. He interpreted the dreams of the other prisoners and eventually his gift brought him before the King. He was asked to interpret the dreams that were troubling the King, and after doing so, was made the head of Egypt. God exalted Joseph when he was ready and when the nation needed him the most. His dreams that God had given him came to pass, and the joy was overwhelming after all the pain that he had endured.
What prison or pit do you feel like you are in right now? Are you holding onto the dreams that God has given you? Are you willing to be found faithful where you are at? God placed Joseph in that prison to build character in him. In that prison He learned how to trust God completely. He continued to use the gifts that God had given him even in his pit. There is something on the inside of you that God wants you to use in this season! Do you enjoy singing? Worship the Lord through this rough season. Worship gets our minds off ourselves and allows God to give us His perspective. We must have the right attitude in the journey before our dreams can come to pass. Dream big, beautiful, but also embrace the journey – more importantly, embrace Jesus in the journey. There is a joy you will find as you seek God and praise Him in the midst of your process. The process prepares you for the position God is leading you into. Maybe you are dreaming of getting married someday and you feel like singleness is really dragging you down. Embrace this season! God is preparing your heart to be the woman of some man’s dreams. If we cannot be content in the journey, we are not ready for the destination! I have witnessed this in my own life. I have come so much closer to my King in this process. It has been very hard, but I have seen my pit become a palace as I embrace Jesus and bless those around me. He has been using the gifts that He has placed inside me to help others and bring joy in this season. He is preparing me for the days ahead, and when I realize that, it brings me so much comfort and joy. So let God satisfy your heart in this season of waiting and trust.
He is the Lover of your soul! He is calling you to come closer to Him, and in the struggle He is your strength. Allow him to use the gifts inside you to bring joy to you and to others in the process. There are many things He wants to show you in this journey. Walk with Him and watch your dreams come true! ~ *~
