Meet Love and the Outcome

The band, Love and the Outcome, is made up of a husband and wife duo. One is pop and the other is rock, and they are both all about Jesus. Together they are pop rock with a WHOLE lot of Jesus. Jodi and Chris started their band, Love and the Outcome, a little over a year-and-a-half ago. They continue their lives every day pursuing what God wants them to do. Jodi has always been drawn towards basketball (FUN FACT), and before understanding that God wanted her in music she was planning on being a basketball star! Chris has always loved football, but he has never played on a team.

He is With Us

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God."

[Psalms 20:7]

In life we are faced with challenges. The challenges could range from school troubles to the loss of a loved one. Most people “fix” their wounds with duct tape. They take the miracle tape of optimisim and hope for the best. But as followers of Christ we know that there is only one way to be mended in order to overcome those challenges that we face. Our answer is Jesus.

“When we first met, we were both in separate bands," Jodi said. "I had my band, and he had his band. We fell in love. We got married. But that wasn’t where the challenges faced us. We had a house in Canada, but we really felt that God was calling us to go beyond what we had done with music before. So we did the sensible thing, we sold our house and everything we had, well, we kept Chris’s bass guitar and my mix kit. We literally lived out of our car. God told us what we needed to do, and the only thing we could do was obey and trust in him.”

Sometimes life throws you a curveball. We think that everything is going just dandy, we have three pitches left, and we know that we can send that ball sailing into the stands. The pitcher winds up and the ball comes soaring towards you. You swing the bat with determination. THWACK. The ball lands in the catcher’s mitt.

“My mom was very ill with stomach cancer. " Jodi talked about her own curve ball, "The cancer took her life. It was a terribly sad time filled with grieving and wondering why God would take her. But it’s not in our hands, we have no power to control what God has destined. Every day, challenges line the path that we walk. We have to put our faith in Christ and trust Him to get us through. He will. God puts challenges in our lives, but with Him, He helps us overcome them. Challenges are meant to test your faith. They are designed to see if you really trust God with all that is in you.”

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the  Lord  with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;  in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths  straight."

Trust in the Lord your God with all your heart. Don’t just trust God with a few tiny aspects of your life.

“Here God, I put you in charge of my closet. I trust you with my shoes.” That is not the way to go about life. Don’t just put God in charge of your closest and those precious outfits that took you FOREVER to find. Trust God with the big things. Give God everything. When you trust the Lord and lean not on what you thought, but give your all to Him – He shall make your paths straight. He shall direct you. He shall see you through.
