1. Her Radical Obedience to God

2. Loving Others First

3. Using Her Free Will to Glorify Him

Mary surrendered and obeyed God when she said, "Let it be unto me according to Your Word." She placed God's plan for her life above of her own. And she used her free will to choose to be part of the amazing story God wanted her to have a role in!

It isn't always easy to say "Yes" to God. When is it ever easy to love those who persacute you? When it it easy to be held, accountable for a responsibility you must keep? Take a look at this scripture...

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.” (Luke 1:38 NIV) Immediately after being approached by the angel, Mary accepted God’s request of her. Without hesitation, Mary told God that she would be willing to trust whatever He had in store for her. This shows an amazing ammount of undeniable trust. and faith in God!

Wouldn’t it be incredible if the majority of us could say yes to God that instantly? I’m not sure about you, but I crave to have the sort of bravery Mary did. Just think of all the wonders of God that could manifest within our society if God’s children would place their full trust in Him, and say “Yes!” to His perfect will. So my question to you is:

Do you have the courage to stand in righteousness in these dark days?

The opposite of courage is fear. And God has NOT given us the spirit of fear, for that comes from the deceiver. Remember, Satan only comes to kill, still and destroy. We must believe in God always, believe that He will be the light in our lives even when the days are dark. “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7 KJV)”

We each have a special calling on our lives. And the number one call of all Christians is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. I encourage you to use this Bible princess, Mary, as an example! Her story is incredible and uplifting. To those of you who are mothers, or someday wish to have children of your own consider the story of Mary to be encouraging. This woman fully submitted herself before the Almighty and made a decision that would save souls from eternal damnation. Although Jesus was her child, Mary first understood that no one else loved Him as God loved Him. She did not allow herself to get in the way of God’s plan.

So don’t miss out on what God has planned for you! Give Him a try, and be bold in your choice to believe His Word! He loves a good challenge and loves it even more when you cast your cares unto Him. Although Mary may have not always understood why God called her to make such a decision, she remained faithful to Him, as He too remained faithful to her.
