Courageous Tips

From a Meek and Mild Young Woman

By Katie H

There is a certain, unique kind of strength and beauty that comes from a young woman who is meek and shy. She is a rare flower, perfectly designed by her Creator.

While this may be true; it is easy for girls like me (and possibly you) to lose their tongue, their voice, and their courage. It's so easy not speak out for fear of saying the wrong thing. It is easy to get lost in the fear that surrounds us, and sometimes feel like we are drowning in that fear.

Personally, I have faced situations such as this. Once, I had to give a ten-minute presentation with a friend and I was terrified. It didn’t matter that we both knew the information well or that I enjoyed the subject matter, I was still afraid. Afraid that I would mess up, afraid of the “what if’s” of the situation. My friend and I both prayed the night before the presentation, asking God that things would go well and we would be able to overcome the fear that encompassed both of our hearts. We ended up doing very well on that presentation, and my fear was overcome!

This is just an example of why it is so important as Christians to know where to turn. We have a Lighthouse to guide our every step. The Lord will guide us and help us fight through the fear if we trust in Him!

Psalm 27:1-- "The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?"
