from the accessories and things that might tempt you away from what your goal is! Also, know what your budget for that particular shopping trip is. Only bring what you want to spend! When your money is gone, there will be no more temptations to splurge!

7) Should I Take Two?

Every girl has that moment where she feels like she's found the PERFECT top, pair of jeans or skirt. Next time you have that moment, and you totally love it, take advantage of it. Why not buy two of the same thing, just in different colors? Who is going to notice anyway?

8) Have At Least One Cute Dress For Special Occasions

Next time you have some extra spending money for clothes, why not check out the dress rack? It's a great idea to have at least one cute dress for special occasions. I used to feel like handing over a hunk of change for a dress I would only wear once (like to a wedding or graduation party) would be a waste. But you'll be surprised at how often occasions arise where Cinderella needs something cute to wear!

9) Be A Classic, Not A Trend

Trends come and go, but some forever pieces will always be in. Make sure you have some of the classic items that never go out of style. Jeans, jean jackets, leggings, tank tops for layering, black pants, and dressy flats will always come in handy.

10) Out With The Old & In With The New!

Don't be a clothing hoarder. When your closet is stuffed full of so many clothes that you don't have enough days on the calendar to wear them, it's time to pass them on to someone who needs them more than you do. Your local clothing pantry at church, Salvation Army, or Goodwill are some great alternatives. A younger sibling or cousin might also enjoy the benefits of your yesterday clothes!

Getting Started

Chit-chat with the girls for a few moments, and it quickly becomes clear: they all have a passion for music!

Lindsay said, “I was doing Christian music before, when I was fourteen-years-old, going back and forth from Nashville to Florida as a kid writing and recording, trying to make things happen, and I guess it just wasn't God's timing. It was kinda funny, I eventually just gave it to the Lord and said, “God I'm just going to be where you have me right now and be happy here.”

Shortly after her moment of sweet surrender, she learned about auditions for this new girl group.

“I was doing a show, something for a friend, and the drummer at the time was a guy helping to launch the audition. He said, 'Oh my gosh you would be perfect for this group. You can just fill out the form and try out.' ”

Carmen said, “When I heard about it I was a vocal major at Belmont University in Nashville. I was studying music business and voice there. I started to pursue a pop career, but I was also leading worship at my church at Long Hollow Baptist Church. The creative director there Tweeted at me and was like, 'You need to do this.' I thought, 'This is perfect!' Because I had also danced my whole life. So it's like, singing, dancing, Jesus, boom! It's for me!”

Kelsey also shared how she first heard about the auditions. “I had actually just graduated from college about the same time I heard about the group. And I had been looking for a job. For me, music was always something I wanted to do, like in the back of my head, but I didn't ever think I'd be able to. So I got a degree in music education and just thought that I would teach, and be assured that music would always be a part of my life. Then I heard about the auditions through a local radio station. They said, 'I think you should send in an application,' so I did, and here I am!

A Real Kind of Friendship

The girls each landed a role in the band, packed their bags, moved to Nashville, and said hello to their new best friends! The ladies spend endless hours together recording, rehearsing, performing, and just hanging out. We all know how difficult it can be to get along with our sisters and gal-friends! I had to ask, how do they all manage to live in harmony?

Carmen: “Honestly, I think we have learned a lot of stuff living together. We got to know each other, like what makes each other tick and our different personalities. We basically are like sisters I would say! We have good moments and bad moments, but I feel like any group of friends do.”

Lindsay: “And also, from the very beginning we made a policy to be honest with each other. We can say, 'Hey, this hurt my feelings', then talk about it, be honest with each other, and that has saved us so much trouble.”

Lauren: “I've always said from the beginning, I feel like God hand picked us. We are all so totally different, but that's what works. 'Cause like, my weakness is Carmen's strength. Or you know, vice versa. And I think that's what makes us work.”

What a great example of unity! Just like in the body of Christ, where a bunch of random hands and feet and noses and toes are thrown into one community and told to love each other...yet when we work together, it's something really awesome.
