5) Be A Smart Accessorize-er

It's hard not to snatch up every adorable scarf, hat, necklace and ring we see...but a girl can spend so much money on accessories that pretty soon she finds she has too many to wear all at once! Is your jewelry box tangled with jewels you never wear anymore? Do you have scarves that match nothing in your wardrobe? It might be time to smarten up when you accessorize. Seek out items that will go with more than one outfit in your closet, (at least three!) and try to resist the urge to spend money on something just because it's cute. Be practical. Think twice, and you'll discover that you might not need as much as you think you do.

6) Make A List

To avoid spending money on what you really don't need, make a list before you hit the mall. Keep in mind your specific goals for that shopping trip. Are you Christmas shopping for a friend? Do you need new socks and a pair of tennis shoes? If you know you don't need a new purse, then stay away from the accessories and things that might tempt you away from what your goal is! Also, know what your budget for that particular shopping trip is. Only bring what you want to spend! When your money is gone, there will be no more temptations to splurge!

Crown of Beauty Spotlight:

1 Girl Nation!

Meet 1 Girl Nation!

In our high-speed internet generation, everything is fast-paced, fast-forward, and jet-set to soar!

Preteens and teenage girls fill their headphones with upbeat, bubblegum pop tunes that share messages about living while they're young, taking advantage of every moment, and living life on the wild-n-crazy side. Sadly, a lot of these messages encourage kids to drink, party, and “live it up,” sending them in the wrong direction.

When Carmen, Kayli, Kelsey, Lauryn Taylor and Lindsey realized how damaging this “throw away your lives, and just have fun” message was for young girls, they decided to step up and do something about it.

Their radio single, “While We're Young,” encourages females of all ages to crank up both the music and their commitment to Jesus while they're young! What a better time to serve God, when we have all this energy bottled up inside us, waiting to explode like a shook-up Pepsi can!

I had the privilege of Skyping with these lovely ladies, and they were thrilled to open up and share their hearts with us! When our Skype call connected, I got my first glimpse of the girls who rocked sweats, messy buns, and big smiles. Piled together like a big happy family on their tour bus, I had several questions floating through my mind. Who were these girls? How did they get started pursuing music? And why are they so passionate about the messages they share?
