Making Spirits Bright
The Home Depot delivers decorations , trees and good tidings to Sycamore Elementary
The easiest way to put a smile on a child ’ s face during the holiday season is with special gifts . The same trick is also effective to put a smile on an entire school of students .
Last year , Sycamore Elementary School received a pre-lit tree and ornaments from The Home Depot to help bring the holiday spirit to its students . This December , the students were surprised with more holiday decorations , as well as 25 trees for families to take home .
Ten students were selected to join Home Depot staff as they decorated the tree and front entrance to the school . First-grader Alyssa Jones said it was fun to decorate the tree and it ’ s special to have a tree at school .
“ We will get to see it every day ,” Jones said .
Yaritza Lechuga , a mom of two young children and employee of Home Depot on Interstate 35 in Fort Worth , enjoyed working with the students and was excited to know there are schools like Sycamore for her children when they grow older . She was happy to work for a company that is always willing to help .
“ We want to build personal relationships with our customers ,” Lechuga said . “ We want them to know that

we are here for them and that we want to give back to our community .”
For the month of December , the faculty , staff and students of Sycamore Elementary can start and end their day walking by a tall , beautiful tree and be excited about where they teach and learn .
That ’ s a special gift that would put a smile on anyone ’ s face .
