Jayden Campbell , a fifth-grader , said the program helps him build friendships and do better in school .
“ I really like that the teachers help me with my homework , and there ’ s lots of fun things to do ,” he said , noting he enjoys working on electronics in one of his classes . “ There ’ s lots of projects to do .”

CISD AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAMS There are three types of afterschool programs in Crowley ISD
— two are free and one is fee based .
In addition to ACE , the other free program at CISD is Sports and Tutoring , which is run by Clayton YES !, designed by the individual campus principals and paid for through the Fort Worth Police Department ’ s Crime , Control and Prevention District ( CCPD ) funds . Sports and Tutoring , which also offers enrichment activities , is offered , or will be offered , at Crowley Middle School , Sue Crouch Intermediate School as well as Meadowcreek and Sycamore elementary schools .
The third type of afterschool program is fee-based childcare run by either Clayton YES ! or the YMCA at eight campuses .
“ Many of our schools in CISD have free afterschool programs with grants that districts around the area do not have ,” Polk said . “ That is a huge draw for Crowley parents within our district . It ’ s hands on and it ’ s engaging and it ’ s allowing kids to extend their learning day after school .”
