Crib to Classroom Starting in the 2017-18 school year, teachers and staff now have an extra benefit to help ease their minds as they get ready for work each day. The mission of the Employee Child Development Center is to provide high quality development for children and grandchildren of Crowley ISD employees. “It has been a dream of ours for many years to offer employee child care,” Chief of Employee Services Dr. Theresa Kohler said. “The Child Development Center provides our employees with convenient, affordable child care and a peace of mind that their children are in a nurturing, warm environment while they are hard at work educating our CISD students. We greatly appreciate our school board for its vision and the team of staff members who helped make this dream a reality.” The center is centrally located in the district at Jackie Carden Elementary and is only open for the 187 days that teachers work. No tuition is paid for child care during winter break, spring break or other holidays and breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks are included at no extra charge. 8 CROWLEY ISD CONNECTIONS | Fall 2017
