With all the improvements being made around the CRVL , 2017 looks to be an even
more exciting year for teams . Last year , the CRVL set a new attendance record at the Region 7C tournament in St . Boni and Watertown with 2,707 paid spectators . With great ballparks getting better , and even better baseball being played , it would be no surprise to see the CRVL and Region 7C break that attendance record again .
A complete season schedule , once it is official , will be posted on the CRVL website along with updated scores , standings and others news throughout the season .

The Crow River Valley League was well represented in the 2016 Minnesota Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame class . Brownton ’ s Doug Schuette and Glencoe ’ s Dave Sell were both inducted into the Hall of Fame Sept . 17 .
Doug Schuette
Schuette , the manager of the Brownton Bruins , led the Bruins to a great run in the Region 7C tournament while punching a ticket to state , as well . The Bruins kept things rolling by upsetting Jordan in the first round .
This isn ’ t the only year that Schuette has been around the Brownton Bruins baseball program . He ’ s been around the Bruins for nearly six decades .
Schuette played third base for the Brownton Bears in high school and for the Brownton Legion team , as well . Schuette then became a part of the Bruins as a player , and now as the full-time manager . He was a member of the Bruins for 25 years , 17 of which he was a player-manager . He know is the full-time manager , a position he still
Brownton ’ s Doug Schuette
holds today , 31 years later .
Schuette ’ s duties don ’ t stop at just being the manager of the Bruins . He also is in charge of helping prepare the field for games , and oversees all the work that goes on at Barney Tadsen Field . If managing the Bruins
Glencoe ’ s Dave Sell
and taking care of the field wasn ’ t enough , Schuette has also coached the Brownton Legion team for more than 30 years .
Dave Sell
Sell , the manager of the Glencoe Brewers , is a well-known name in the Glencoe community for a good reason . Since his days in the little league , Sell has always been around the game of baseball , and for good reason .
Growing up , Sell played baseball at Glencoe-Silver Lake High School . He later continued his baseball career at the collegiate level at Anoka Ramsey Community College and Mayville State . He also played amateur baseball for the hometown Brewers for several years .
Sell has been connected with the Brewers for more than 25 years now . In 1998 , he led the Brewers to the Class C state title as a manager .
Along with Brewers , Sell also coaches the G-SL junior varsity baseball team , and helps coach in the Glencoe community education program , as well . Sell also plays a big part in the annual wood bat tournament in Glencoe for 10-to-15 year-olds .
Away from the baseball diamond , Sell is a member of the Glencoe Baseball Board and helps take care of Volmer Field . He also has served as a tournament director for four state amateur baseball tournaments .
