Roundup continued
Tanner Kohls took the loss on the mound for
the Cardinals. He went three and a third innings,
allowing five runs off of four hits.
Brandon Stender and Jon Werner had the lone
two hits for the Cardinals.
Lepel finished the game going 2-for-4. Kyle
Panning had three hits for the Bluejays, and Matt
Odegaard drove in two runs.
Adam Prehn picked up the win on the mound
for the Bluejays. He pitched seven innings, allowing zero earned runs, while striking out two. Matt
Odegaard got the save in relief.
For the Red Devils, Bryce Walt had two hits
to lead the way. Justin Kohls took the loss on the
mound despite pitching well. He gave up five runs
in eight innings of work, while striking out five.
Plato 10, Waconia 0
Young America 30, St. Boni 1
Sun., June 26
It was all Young America as the Cardinals routed the St. Boni Saints 30-1.
Brice Panning homered twice and had seven
RBI for the Cardinals in the blowout win. Hunter
Rickaby and Jon Werner each had five RBI, as
well.
Troy Kohls notched the win on the mound for
the Cardinals. He went five innings, allowing zero
runs off of six hits.
Zach Johnson took the loss on the mound. He
went one inning, allowing 13 runs off of six hits.
Brownton 3, Glencoe 1
Sun., June 26
The Brownton Bruins got a gem on the mound
from Dylan McCormick as they handed the
Glencoe Brewers a 3-1 loss.
McCormick gave up just one run off of four hits
in his complete game gem. He also struck out 10
Brewers in the win.
Josh Dietz drove in two runs for the Bruins to
lead them offensively, while Bryce Lindeman had
two hits, as well.
Brandon Ebert and Stephen Wiblemo were the
lone bright spots for the Brewers offsenively. They
combined for all four of their team’s hits.
Jamie Paumen took the loss on the mound. He
gave up one earned run in eight innings of work.
Mayer 12, St. Boni 2
Sat., June 25
Brady Malberg’s five RBI led the Mayer Blazers to a 12-2 win in seven innings over the St. Boni
Saints. Malberg went 3-for-5 with a double, run
scored, and those five RBI to lead the way for the
Blazers.
Cole Buttenhoff got the win on the mound. He
went all seven innings, allowing one earned run,
while striking out seven.
Zach Johnson and Mike Dabu led the way for
the Saints with two hits each.
Winsted 10, Young America 0
Tues., June 28
Ryan Quast and his walk-off single in the bottom of the eigth helped the Winsted Wildcats to
a 10-0 win over the Young America Cardinals in
eight innings.
The Cardinals were blanked by a great pitching
performance by Tony Kley. He threw eight scoreless innings, allowing just two hits, while striking
out nine.
Kley also scored three runs to help pace the
Wildcats and their offensive attack. Jake Prehn,
Garret Zander, and Luke Theisen all had two hits
for the Wildcats, as well.
Wed., June 29
Chris Odegaard was nearly untouchable as the
Plato Bluejays handed the Waconia Lakers a 10-0
loss in seven innings.
Odegaard threw all seven innings, allowing just
one hit, while striking out eight.
Matt Odegaard went 5-for-5, while hitting for
the cycle and driving in three runs and scoring another three himself.
Tyler Lang drove in two runs for the Bluejays,
while Jake VonBerge had two hits.
AJ Friedrich had the lone hit for the Lakers in
the loss. Josh Lenz was tagged with the loss on the
mound. He went three and a third innings, allowing eight runs off of nine hits.
Glencoe 8, Mayer 7
Thurs., June 30
Stephen Wiblemo’s walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth lifted the Glencoe Brewers to an
8-7 win over the Mayer Blazers.
The Brewers rallied for two runs in the bottom
of the ninth to come back and win.
Mason Goettl and Derek Webber led the way
for the Brewers. Both drove in three runs, and Weber homered in the third inning.
Aaron Boraas got the win on the mound in
relief. He went three innings, allowing no runs,
while striking out six.
Brady Malberg led the way for the Blazers. He
went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI in the
loss. Jordan Berrios also drove in two runs, and
Grant Noenning had two hits.
Crow River Review
Hamburg 7, St. Boni 6
Thurs., June 30
Clint Aretz and his three RBI led the Hamburg
Hawks to a 7-6 win over the St. Boni Saints. Aretz
went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored,
along with a double to lead the way.
Wes Willemsen, Brian Crane, and David McCoy each had two hits, as well.
For the Saints, Tommy Mahota led the offense
going 2-for-5 with a homerun and two RBI.
Green Isle 3, Watertown 1
Thurs., June 30
Alex Twenge’s strong performance on the
mound led the Green Isle Irish to a 3-1 win over
the visiting Watertown Red Devils. Twenge threw
eight shutout innings to pick up the win. Lucas
Herd picked up the save.
For the Irish at the plate, Josh Anthony had the
big hit with a solo home run.
Jared Duske led the way for the Red Devils offensively. He went 2-for-3 in the loss. Patrick Tschida was tagged with the loss despite pitching well.
He went seven and a third innings, allowing three
runs, while striking out two.
Winsted 4, Brownton 2
Thurs., June 30
Shane Khan was masterful on the mound as he
helped the Winsted Wildcats come out on top in a
4-2 pitchers’ duel against the Brownton Bruins.
Khan threw six innings, allowing just one run,
while striking out 11.
Joe Kley homered for the Wildcats and had
three hits total.
For the Bruins, Josh Dietz also homered and
had three hits as well in the loss.
