About the project
To document our walk we recorded the read out stories with a voice recorder and made photos of the spaces where each story was recited , but without the person . We didn ’ t want to produce an image of the people who read out the notes , so that in the end all the stories melt together . Although we wished to create this connection between strangers on the street , we realised that some people didn ’ t like to participate .
That is how we changed our method after the second walk and converted our walk into a kind of research as well . Marking also the non-participants in a grid , we could see how the 20 persons , which we met , reacted . Since we could only talk to the passersby in English , we had a language barrier , which in some cases made it impossible for people to interact with us .
