Crossing Canada With The Maplemusketeer Volume One - An Overview (June 2014) | Page 66
When in Vancouver … invite
people to join you on a photowalk!
This leads to my being joined by
two Google Plus photographer
friends for a multi-hour romp
around Stanley Park and part
of Downtown Vancouver, after
I have a personal photoadventure
walking from where I’m staying to
where we’re meeting.
The squawks and stench announce
the presence of a heron rookery
before you may actually see any of the
herons up in the tree. It’s not enough
to detract people from drawing near
to the fence and taking pictures with
whatever device they have, including
tablets. I notice this fellow, and the
combo of tablet usage plus sunlight
hitting his face from across the
rookery, and have enough time to get
around behind and below him for
this shot of the heron framed by light
in the upper left of this picture.
