The Western coastline of Canada is full of fjords and few
roads. Having travelled by boat, car, and foot, I make it to
Egmont at the top of the lower Sunshine Coast. Waking
up in my extended family’s house, I make my way to the
end of the wharf at sunrise to pay homage to my personal
family history of fisherfolk and loggers. The mussels
catch sea life and sunlight just below the surface.
