Most of my growing up on the
shores of the Salish Sea happened
on the Sunshine Coast looking
across at Nanaimo. I later went on
to live in Nanaimo for a few months
early in my career as a Registered
Massage Therapist, before moving
back to my hometown to live with
my Grandfather.
This visit, I get to catch up with
my friend Jesse Janzen and his
roommate Ryan Jobson. They
are two very talented musicians,
Super Smash Bros. competitors,
and all around great guys.
I leave Nanaimo in the company of
an old classmate who is returning
up-island to Campbell River.
Along the way, we stop and share a
photoadventure and meandering
conversations.
In Campbell River I spend time
with my Great-Aunt learning about
local history/geography, her family’s
tugboat company, and my maternal
Grandmother’s family history.
