I boarded the bus in Golden, almost
missing it due to the Remembrance
Day Parade crossing the bridge.
Through mountains, valleys, along
rivers, and lakes, I burn up the rest of
daylight before arriving in Kamloops
and meet an old college friend for hot
chocolate. I’m also waiting here to
catch a rideshare with an ambulance
attendant going off-shift and
returning to the Lower Mainland.
We’ll encounter the beginning of
snow as we pass the Coquihalla
Summit before descending into green
rainforest and my return to Hope.
