Crossing Canada With The Maplemusketeer Volume One - An Overview (June 2014) | Page 308
Incendia Motus is an amazing fire performing
troupe and a highlight of our evening’s photo
walk. As we move into place up on the hill,
discretely and politely staying out of the way
(as good Canadians), a shout rings out from the
stage as the MC says ‘Photographers up there!
Guy with the big beard and the fellow next to
him! Bring your cameras and yourselves right
down here by the stage!’.
I don’t pay much attention to specific dates
these days. I left Victoria with the goal of
making it to the East Coast by the fall, and
to make it back to the West Coast before
Canada gets really cold and snowy. Those
were my general timeline guidelines. Oh and
to try to be in Toronto for the wedding.
I’m halfway there now. I think it’s taken me
about 5.5 months to get across Canada. I’ve
shared rides and conversations with many
strangers who’ve become friends, and I’ve
shared even more conversations with friends
who’ve become better friends.
We oblige.
I never actually put much thought to what
it would be like to make it this far. And yet
here I am.
It’s time to find my way back to the Rainforest
Kingdom.
