I spent over three months working in
Saskatchewan one winter/spring. I got to
see the solemn beauty of the snow covered
fields, the grand skies filled with sunrises,
sunsets, and a panoply of stars. This time,
however, we’re driving straight across, as
I have a ride from Edmonton to Winnipeg
with an old college classmate who’s moving
to Ontario. We’ll drive until it’s nearly dark
and then pull off of the highway to camp
alongside a field. Tomorrow we’ll continue
on our way across Saskatchewan towards
the Manitoba border, and my friends’ farm.
