I get a ride from Golden to Didsbury with
my friend Stu who is heading east for work.
Passing through the Rockies in the middle
of the night listening to Relationship Talk
on the radio... you learn things. Another
thing we learn is that if you’re driving a
diesel through the mountains at night, you
should fill up in Golden, because there’s
nowhere else open that sells diesel until you
get to Banff. We also learn how energizing
it can be driving at night in the middle of a
vast wilderness hoping you’ve got the fuel to
make it to the next pump.
That’s life sometimes.
I eventually end up in Edmonton, where
through a series of events planned and
unplanned, I get to visit with my ex-stepbrother, a couple of lovely old friends from
Summer Camp, as well as do a photowalk
with the charming Chrysta Rae. We also
find an outdoor public urinal. No...not the
one in the picture.
