C R OSS Cloud Computing in Taiwan Minister Chang shared about Taiwan Government’s strategies and vision to upgrade its services into Cloud Computing. Cloud Computing is a computing concept with open and shared data as its core, enabling a large numbers of computers to connect through the Internet and run an application on many connected computers at the same time through the virtual server which can be altered and mobilized directly without affecting the users. “Cloud-Computing is a new concept with openness and shared data as its core. With this core concept, we are pushing the government to rethink many of its services, which were once thought impossible, but now possible with the open and sharing mentality.”(Dr. Simon CHANG, Ministry without portfolio, Executive Yuan in Taiwan, ICSSI 2013) 9
