THE CROFTON CHRONICLE # 9

Circles in Stone Keren Li

Keren takes inspiration from all parts of our world, from everyday objects to deep forests and overanalyzes the symbols or metaphors attached to them. She prides herself on her music and fashion taste and her assortment of merch collected from multiple fandoms. This poem reflects on how great civilizations rise with confidence but slowly fade as time passes. It suggests that what feels permanent in the present is actually fragile and temporary. It hints that our own society, like those before it, will one day become another chapter in history rather than the centre of it.
