If he can produce the type of climbing we saw on Mont Ventoux last time round, then no one will get anywhere near him.

Weaknesses:

It’s difficult to actually pin point any areas that could actually be described as a weakness for Chris Froome.

On area that could potentially be a weakness for Froome is the fact that he is so strong all round, ultimately meaning there will be very few stages in which teams won’t be attacking him and be looking to capitalise on any signs of weakness - just like Contador did in Duaphine a few weeks ago.

Another potential worry for Froome could be the strength of his team. When you have a rider as strong as Chris Froome, it can be difficult the domestiques in the team to match the expectations and ability of the lead rider and this is exactly what happened last year with Geraint Thomas and co, struggling to give Froome support on the tougher stages… although it’s difficult to imagine a team as thorough as Team Sky, allowing this to happen for a 2nd year on the spin.

Verdict:

Froome is odds on favourite to win the Tour again this year and providing he can avoid crashing or picking up an illness, it’d take a brave man to bet against him finishing on the Champs Elysees, clad head to toe in yellow, however it wont be all plain sailing for the Team Sky man.
