20/20 games, which also allow us to spread the word to
parents about junior coaching.”
Present
Last year was a very good season. At the start of the
season our aim was to consolidate our position in the
league but we have actually out-performed expectations.
We finished third and had some outstanding
performances – plenty of runs and centuries posted by
skipper Dougie Voas, Dan Edwards and Sam Sykes and
outstanding bowling from Richard Commons, Niall
Burns and Pete Caddick.
This year we want to build upon last season’s
progress; we’ve a few new recruits and our first
pre-season friendly was a win against an excellent
Carlton CC team in Edinburgh. We’ve also arranged
additional midweek and Sunday fixtures to make sure
everyone gets some playing time; this also gives us the
opportunity to blood some of our very promising juniors
into matches – youthful runners are a great benefit for
the older players!”

Youth
“Youth cricket is the lifeblood of Peebles CCC. A few
of us won’t see fifty again and many others won’t see
forty, so bringing through young players to replace us
is essential if the club is to thrive. In the last few years,
we have made a concerted effort to attract youngsters to
