Since then the club has put together a history to be
proud of and in the early 1990’s decided that its future
lay in within the Cheshire County League joining at 1st
and 2nd XI level as full members in 1993.
Some success has been gained over the years with
1st XI league championships won in 2013 and 2015, the
latter gaining promotion into the premiership for the
2016 season. As expected, the 2016 season was a difficult
one but the club managed to retain its position in the
division over a tough conclusion to the season played
away from home to allow pitch reconstruction work.
Having been top of the league for most of the season,
the 1st XI finished 3rd in the Cheshire County League
Premier Division in 2018.
Cricket Club Magazine recently caught up with Club
Representative Gary Fisher to find out more about how
they have been getting along lately. He told us, “I have
played cricket at Timperley since 1997. I had played
Hockey at the club previously and playing Cricket there
as well was an easy decision with the ground within
walking distance at from home.”
“I help out wherever I can and of late have focused
on trying to ensure that our playing subscriptions are
administered well and I have also assisted in trying to
give ground maintenance more of a focus across the
club. Cricket is just one sporting component of the Club’s
wider activity (also playing Hockey, Lacrosse and junior
football) on site.
